Designed to correct a protruding abdomen, a tummy tuck addresses “unwanted excess skin and tightens the underlying abdominal musculature”. The goal is a slender and flatter midsection. Although a tummy tuck will slim your waistline, it is not to be used as a weight loss tool. That being said, Dr. Fugo is often asked, “Should I lose weight before my tummy tuck?” While the answer is unique to each patient, Dr. Fugo can shed light on how weight loss—and weight gain—will affect your tummy tuck. Ever popular, breast augmentation is one of the most commonly requested procedures at Dr. Fugo Plastic Surgery. The decision to actually undergo a breast augmentation is only the first of many choices to be made. Many patients find themselves overwhelmed by the flurry of decisions they are faced with. Dr. Fugo strives to make this process as easy for you as possible. Let us help you. After all, our goal is to help you achieve yours.
Get an Idea of What You Want
It is important to know what you are looking for. “I ask my pre-operative breast patients to show me photos of breasts that represent the look they’re trying to achieve” says Dr. Fugo. As an experienced plastic surgeon, he can “then translate those photos into specific implant size and profile that will yield the result my patient wants. In these photos, body weight, height, skin color or tone is of no matter. I’m simply looking at the breasts themselves to determine my patient’s expectations and aesthetic goals. The patient and I can then speak openly about expectations and options to achieve this look.”
Looking at before and after photos can prove helpful in other ways. Looking for someone with a similar body type and breast shape not only help you decide what you want, but it may also give you a better idea of what you can expect.
