Everything is set and packed to go on that long awaited summer vacation, but did you make sure to pack your sunscreen? A great summer vacation can turn bad if you forget that sunscreen. Especially for children, making sure to apply their sunscreen before they head to the beach or water park is crucially important! Kids get caught up in the excitement of vacation and don’t pay attention to that sun exposure.
But, just because you put it on in the morning doesn’t mean you’re done for the day….if your children are active, swimming or sweating, re-apply sunscreen every 2-3 hours. Even if they are sitting in the shade, you should re-apply every 4-6 hours. Water exposure and sweat production causes sunscreen to lose its strength and effectiveness. Skin safety is crucial during summer months. Have questions pertaining to skin protection? Contact Dr. Fugo at (845) 565-7040
