Woman in a white bra wrapped in a white sheet with a smooth and flat torso and thighs after CoolSculptingIf you’ve been eating right, exercising, and leading a generally healthy lifestyle, yet aren’t seeing your body respond the way you’d like, CoolSculpting may be a great choice for you. CoolSculpting is an effective alternative to surgical liposuction that can create wonderful results in the right candidate.

If you have stubborn areas of fat that you just can’t seem to get rid of, you may be the perfect candidate for CoolSculpting treatment. Call New York plastic surgeon Dr. Jonathan Fugo at 845-565-7040 to schedule your consultation today.

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is an FDA approved non-surgical fat reduction treatment. It is not a weight loss treatment, and you should be at or near your goal weight for best results. It is effective at reducing small areas of fat that are difficult to get rid of even with a healthy lifestyle, such as in the:

  • Abdomen
  • Back
  • Bra bulge
  • Knees
  • Armpits
  • Chin

CoolSculpting works by essentially “freezing” the fat cells in the targeted area through a process called cryolipolisis. After the fat cells are frozen, they are eliminated naturally by your body, resulting in a 25% to 30% reduction in fat volume. It may take multiple treatments to reach your end goal, so patience is required throughout the process.

A typical CoolSculpting treatment takes an hour to perform, and does not require anesthesia. You’ll feel a brief sensation of cold, after which the targeted area will go numb and you won’t feel anything. You can spend the hour reading, watching TV, taking a nap, catching up on work, almost anything you want.

Is CoolSculpting Right for You?

CoolSculpting may be right for you if:

  • You do not want to undergo liposuction
  • You are at or near a stable, healthy weight
  • You have small areas of unwanted, pinchable fat
  • You have realistic expectations

CoolSculpting is a slower, more gradual process than liposuction, and the results aren’t as dramatic after one treatment. In addition, liposuction can treat larger areas of fat. If you do not want to undergo a surgical procedure and understand that your results will be very gradual with CoolSculpting, you may be a great candidate.

Cost of CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is typically less expensive than liposuction, although it will depend on how many sessions you need and how many areas you want to have treated. Dr. Fugo will be happy to discuss costs during your consultation, and he will let you know if liposuction would be a more cost-effective option to get the results you want.

If you are worried about the cost of CoolSculpting or another cosmetic procedure, we offer financing plans to help you fit cosmetic surgery into your budget. Ask us about cosmetic surgery financing during your consultation and we’ll discuss each option with you. CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit both offer a variety of plans with zero or low APR and flexible payment schedules.
