Everyone has heard this: “Do your research before you go under the knife.” Generally you think that “research” is the surgeon’s job… after all, it’s their profession. Despite what some may think, the truth is this: The more research you do, the better off you are throughout the entire process. Thoroughly research your surgeon. What is his or her specific training and qualifications? Did they complete a residency training program and fellowship trainingat an accredited Plastic Surgery training program? Are they Plastic Surgery board eligible or certified? In most cases, you’ve paid for your consultation time…use it wisely. Ask direct and specific questions. In doing this, you’ll know what to expect before, during and after your procedure.
During your consultation, Dr. Fugo will answer all of your questions. He will walk you through the steps in preparing for your surgery, surgical expectations and post-operative recovery. Research never hurt anyone. So research your upcoming procedure and your surgeon before deciding to proceed. You’ll be better for it!
