There is certainly no shortage of physicians offering Laser Liposuction! It can be short on results. Laser Liposuction can be performed alone, or in conjunction with traditional liposuction. The marketing pitch goes something like this: Laser the fat cells: the fat melts away.
The laser is attached to the end of the suction tube (cannula) and ruptures the fat cells. The laser also heats the skin in that area, reportedly triggering collagen remodeling and skin contraction or tightening.
Laser Liposuction has significant risks…as it works by way of a laser, individuals can suffer serious skin burns, internal and external scarring. It can make revision work exceedingly difficult and sometimes impossible.
Just as with traditional liposuction, this procedure does not work well in patients with significant excess or loose skin. If you think that liposution is the right decision for you, contact Dr. Fugo. He’d be happy to help you understand the risks and potential benefits! (845) 565-7040
