A Safe & Effective Way to Reduce Fat without Surgery
One of the most frustrating things many of us face with our bodies is the stubborn, embarrassing fat that lingers around the neck, abdomen and thighs despite diet and exercise. This happens even to the best of us—both men and women. Despite a healthy weight and size, the double-chin, love handles, spare tire, muffin top, or saddle bags can get in the way of feeling completely comfortable with one’s body.
If you are eating right and working out regularly, but aren’t seeing the results you desire, there are several factors that may be standing in your way. Some of us are simply genetically predisposed to easy weight gain, making it far more difficult to burn fat. Age can also play a significant role in your weight goals, as your metabolism slows. Career choice may be putting you at eight or more hours a day behind a desk. In some circumstances, you may be successful at losing significant weight with diet and exercise, but there remain persistent layers of fat—often around the sub-mental area (double-chin), abdomen, hips, and thighs—that never seem to shrink away. With CoolSculpting, a non-surgical fat reduction procedure available at Dr. Fugo Plastic Surgery, you can finally get rid of those unwanted inches of fat and move forward with the body you’ve been working hard for! There are no incisions or anesthesia involved with this treatment—just the fat-freezing benefits of a revolutionary process known as cryolipolysis.

CoolSculpting FAQ with Dr. Fugo
What areas can I treat with CoolSculpting?
With the appropriate experience and applicator selection, CoolSculpting can be effective at treating a multitude of problem areas, including the neck, arms, abdomen, love handles, back, inner and outer thighs.
Is CoolSculpting the same as Liposuction?
This is probably the single biggest misconception out there regarding CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting and Liposuction are entirely different in almost every respect. The single similarity between both modalities is that when used correctly, both can eliminate fat. However, the mechanism by which they accomplish fat elimination, the actual procedures themselves, the recovery time and overall results are entirely different and unique between the procedures. All of this is discussed in great detail during a consultation.
How much will CoolSculpting cost?
CoolSculpting should cost less than surgical treatment of any particular problem area in most cases. Cost varies quite a bit from case to case, but can cost as little as $700. My average patient spends approximately $2800 for CoolSculpting from start to finish.
What does CoolSculpting feel like?
It doesn’t really “feel” at all. The area that’s being treated begins to feel quite cold (usually within 2-3 minutes) and then the area becomes numb for the remainder of the treatment. I suppose it’s a similar feeling to placing an extremely cold ice pack on your skin and keeping it there for a prolonged period.
What happens during the CoolSculpting treatment?
During the treatment, the applicator is continually cooling and monitoring the temperature of the fatty tissue being treated such that the fat cells are cooled and maintained at the exact temperature that will freeze and kill those specific cells.
How much fat can I lose?
In an ideal candidate, using the correct applicators for any given area, you can expect a 25-30% reduction in the volume of fat in the treated area.
What happens to the fat?
The human body is the ultimate recycling plant. Fat cells (similar to nerve cells) are not genetically programmed to reproduce. Therefore, once dead, the cells are simply broken down to their component parts. Your body then uses these “spare” parts to rebuild something else. However, fat cells (adipocytes) don’t regenerate. Anything that’s true “waste” is excreted through the body’s natural processes of elimination.
How long will the results last?
Results are permanent.
