What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure designed to enhance the appearance of the eyebrows. Tiny hair-like incision are made along your eyebrow area and filled with pigment that is designed to match the existing hairs or complexion of the individual. Microblading is different from traditional eyebrow tattooing because the pigment is implanted closer to the surface of the skin resulting in a more natural appearance. Microblading is performed using a very fine scalpel, rather than a tattooing machine. This allows for finer strokes that mimic the appearance of hair. With traditional tattooing, the end result appears much thicker, darker and less natural.
What are the benefits of microblading?
Microblading presents patients with several benefits, including:
• Semi-permanent results: Spend less time fussing over your eyebrows during your regular routine, but have the peace-of-mind knowing that the results will gradually fade over the next few years. Have the freedom to add or change your look year to year. Touch-up treatments can be performed to maintain longer-lasting results.
• Natural-looking: Microblading is designed to achieve results that look completely natural. The hair-like strokes help to refine your brow shape and create fullness without sacrificing a natural-look.
• Minimal discomfort: While different forms of topical anesthetic can be used, microblading is NOT a 100% pain free experience. Most patients describe the sensation as “little scratches.” A numbing cream may be applied to the brow area beforehand in addition to a liquid numbing agent used during the procedure process.
How long does a microblading treatment take?
A single microblading treatment session lasts between 1-3 hours. It is important not to rush the process in order to achieve the most natural outcome. However, once your treatment is complete, you are free to return to your normal routine without any downtime and only a few restrictions.
How long do results last after microblading?
Your microblading results can last for up to three full year. Touch up treatments are recommended anywhere from 6 months to 3 years. If you wish to go back to your natural brow appearance, the pigment will gradually fade over time on its own.
